The SEM1600B is a smart, powered bridge amplifier designed for strain gauge and load cell signals, with a built-in ability to scale the raw bridge input directly to an engineering process value. The output stage offers voltage, bipolar voltage, or active/passive current re-transmission, and the high-precision input stage uses a 5VDC bridge excitation voltage rather than the traditional 10VDC, reducing power draw and allowing up to four bridges to be connected to a single input for weighing applications.
Powered from a 10-48VDC or 10-32VAC supply, the SEM1600B is well suited to battery-powered installations and includes a volt-free contact input for remote tare setting via an external switch. Two front-panel push buttons can be configured for live output ranging against a real input signal or for output trimming, and the unit is quick to set up via a standard USB lead and menu-driven configuration software, which also allows live process data viewing during offset and span calibration.
