About this category
Need ATEX explosion-proof lighting for an oil and gas facility, petrochemical plant, offshore platform, port, utility site or industrial project in the UAE or GCC? Daly Middle East provides a central range of hazardous-area lighting products for contractors, consultants, EPC companies, maintenance teams and end users.
This hub brings together portable ATEX lights, fixed explosion-proof luminaires, industrial lighting for harsh environments, signalling products, helideck and aviation lighting, and hazardous-area power-distribution equipment. Use the range structure to reach the right product family, then verify the exact model, certificate, marking and datasheet against the project requirement.
For application support, visit the explosion proof lighting supplier UAE page or request technical lighting support.
ATEX explosion-proof lighting is equipment designed and assessed for use in specified potentially explosive atmospheres. The correct fitting depends on the area classification, gas or dust group, temperature class, equipment protection level, protection concept, ambient range, ingress protection, electrical details and conditions of use.
“Explosion-proof lighting” is a useful category description, but it is not a substitute for checking the complete equipment marking and certificate. A product suitable for one hazardous area is not automatically suitable for another, and ATEX, IECEx, UL or other certification routes should be confirmed against the client, consultant, authority and destination-market requirements.
Portable and intrinsically safe lighting can support inspection, maintenance, confined-space work and emergency tasks where a fixed fitting is not practical. Check the product’s permitted zone, certification, battery type, charging arrangement, output, beam and operating time for the intended task.
Explore Portable ATEX Lights for Explosive Areas.
Fixed lighting includes floodlights, high-bay and low-bay luminaires, linear LED fixtures and crane-lighting options. Selection should consider mounting height, beam distribution, area dimensions, maintenance access, environmental exposure and the applicable hazardous-area classification.

Industrial lighting for harsh environments may be considered for facilities exposed to heat, moisture, dust, vibration, chemicals, corrosion or marine conditions. Check the published environmental limits, ingress protection, construction and mounting requirements for the exact product.

Signalling and warning lights serve a different purpose from area illumination. Confirm the required signal function, visibility, colour, control method, voltage, installation position and hazardous-area certification before selecting a product.
Explore Explosion-Proof Signalling Lights.
Helideck and aviation lighting has specialist layout, visibility, operational and authority requirements. Review the project standard, mounting arrangement, environmental conditions and exact product documentation before specifying equipment.

Power-distribution equipment supports the electrical infrastructure around hazardous-area installations. Confirm the required enclosure, protection concept, voltage, current, cable entries, environmental conditions and certification route for the exact application.

Hazardous-area and industrial lighting may be considered for:
The correct product family depends on the application. Fixed area lighting, portable inspection lighting, warning signalling and aviation systems should be treated as separate technical requirements even when they are used on the same project.
Confirm whether the location is classified for gas, vapour, mist or combustible dust and whether the requirement is Zone 0, Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 20, Zone 21 or Zone 22. Use the approved hazardous-area drawing or project specification as the starting point.
Review the equipment group, category, gas or dust group, protection concept, temperature class, equipment protection level and special conditions of use. Do not select from a marketing label alone.
Consider ambient temperature, maximum surface temperature, ingress protection, salt air, dust, water, chemicals, vibration, corrosion, direct solar exposure and cable-entry requirements. Environmental suitability and hazardous-area certification are separate checks.
Provide the target area, mounting height, beam or visibility requirement, illuminance target, operating distance, control method and maintenance constraints. A photometric or application review may be needed for fixed lighting, while signalling and portable products require their own functional checks.
Provide voltage, frequency, AC/DC requirement, cable entries, control method, emergency requirements, bracket or enclosure details and any existing fitting information. These inputs help reduce unsuitable quotations and late project changes.
Make sure the datasheet and certificate refer to the exact product, variant and configuration proposed. Availability, lead time and delivery remain subject to the specific quotation and project requirements.
ATEX and IECEx are related but different certification systems. ATEX is the European Union legal framework for equipment and protective systems intended for potentially explosive atmospheres. IECEx is an international conformity-assessment scheme for equipment and services used in explosive atmospheres.
Some products may carry more than one certification route, but this must be verified for the exact model and configuration. For a UAE or GCC project, check the client, consultant, authority and destination-market requirements before finalising the equipment.

If any item is unknown, provide the project specification or hazardous-area drawing for review. Daly Middle East can then coordinate a reviewable shortlist against the project inputs.
Daly Middle East supports UAE and GCC enquiries for ATEX, IECEx and hazardous-area lighting with application review, product-family guidance, technical information and quotation coordination. Depending on the project, the review may cover the zone, gas or dust group, temperature class, fixture type, mounting, beam distribution, emergency operation, signalling function, environmental conditions, datasheets and certification references.
The objective is a technically reviewable product shortlist—not an unsupported claim that every product in the category is suitable for every hazardous area or application.

It is equipment designed and assessed for use in specified potentially explosive atmospheres. The exact product must match the area classification, complete marking, certificate, temperature class, environment and project requirements.
Portable lighting is intended for mobile inspection, maintenance or emergency tasks, while fixed lighting is installed in a defined position for ongoing area illumination. Each product must be checked against its own certificate, operating conditions and project use.
Only when the exact product rating and certificate cover the proposed zone and project requirement. A Zone 2 product is not automatically suitable for Zone 1.
No. ATEX is the European Union legal framework for relevant equipment and protective systems, while IECEx is an international conformity-assessment scheme. Confirm the certification route required by the project.
Send the project location, application, zone, gas or dust group, temperature class, product family, quantity, mounting or operating details, voltage, environmental conditions, certification requirement and any available drawing or specification.
Daly Middle East supports UAE and GCC enquiries for ATEX, IECEx and hazardous-area lighting options. Product suitability, certification and availability are reviewed model by model against the project requirement.
