About this product

The SEM310 (and ATEX/IECEx/UKEX-approved SEM310X for hazardous areas) is a universal, programmable temperature transmitter accepting Pt100, thermocouple, mV, and slidewire sensors and generating a standard 4-20mA output, with full HART 5, 6, and 7 compatibility for digital communication over the same 2-wire loop. A single SEM310 can replace multiple dedicated transmitter types across a plant, since output range and operating parameters are fully field-programmable via free Status M-Config software over a standard USB lead.

Galvanic isolation is standard to eliminate ground loop effects, and a sensor referencing facility calibrates the transmitter to a specific sensor for improved system accuracy. With two sensor inputs available, the SEM310 supports maths functions such as difference, average, highest, lowest, or sensor redundancy between two connected sensors — features not available on the lower-cost SEM210 — making it the choice for demanding or redundant temperature measurement applications. Note that ATEX configuration on the SEM310X requires a certified USB cable, even when configuring in a safe area.
