About this category
Need industrial lighting for harsh areas in the UAE or GCC? Daly Middle East supports contractors, consultants, EPC companies, maintenance teams and industrial operators with LED lighting options for facilities exposed to heat, moisture, dust, chemicals, vibration, corrosion or demanding marine conditions.
This category brings together industrial luminaires for challenging environments, including linear, round, flood and other area-lighting formats. Some products may be intended for hazardous locations, while others are designed for harsh but non-classified industrial areas. Confirm the exact product datasheet, environmental limits, equipment marking and certification before specifying a fitting.
For application support, visit the explosion proof lighting supplier UAE page or request technical lighting support.
Harsh-environment industrial lighting is designed for applications where ordinary commercial fittings may not withstand the site conditions. The selection may need to account for high or low ambient temperature, dust, water, salt air, chemicals, vibration, impact, corrosion, continuous operation and restricted maintenance access.
The phrase “industrial lighting” does not by itself confirm hazardous-area suitability. If the location is classified, check the complete equipment marking and certificate for the exact model. If the location is not classified but remains physically demanding, review the published ingress protection, construction, temperature range, housing, mounting and maintenance requirements.
The fitting, quantity and mounting arrangement should be selected with the lighting layout, target illuminance, operating conditions and maintenance plan considered together.
Linear fixtures can suit corridors, production lines, workshops, process areas and long-span work zones where an elongated light distribution is useful. Check the fixture length, output, mounting method, beam distribution, ambient range and environmental protection.
Round luminaires can support compact, high-output or high-ceiling applications. Review lumen output, efficacy, beam options, mounting height, glare, spacing and the lighting layout rather than selecting by wattage alone.
Floodlights may be considered for yards, loading bays, access roads, equipment areas and large outdoor spaces. Confirm beam angle, aiming, mounting, glare, environmental exposure and whether the proposed fitting is certified for a classified location.
Some industrial applications require a particular housing, enclosure, temperature range, mounting arrangement or certification route. Use the individual product page and datasheet to confirm what is actually published for the exact model.
Record ambient temperature, humidity, dust, water, washdown, salt air, chemicals, corrosion, vibration, impact and direct solar exposure. Note whether the fitting is indoors, outdoors, near the coast, inside a process area or exposed to an unusual operating condition.
Use the approved hazardous-area drawing or project specification. If gases, vapours, mists or combustible dusts may be present, confirm the zone, gas or dust group, temperature class, equipment protection level and required certification route before choosing a fitting.
Review IP rating, housing material, gasket or sealing information, corrosion resistance, impact protection, cable entries and mounting hardware. IP protection is important, but it is only one part of environmental suitability and does not replace hazardous-area certification.
Provide the mounting height, area dimensions, workplane, target illuminance, beam preference, obstructions, aisle arrangement and glare constraints. A photometric review may be needed to confirm coverage, uniformity and fixture spacing.
Check the permitted ambient range, maximum surface temperature where applicable, thermal management, expected operating schedule and maintenance access. High-temperature or continuously operated facilities may need a product specifically published for those conditions.
Provide voltage, frequency, control method, emergency requirements, cable-entry details, bracket or pole arrangement and existing fitting information if this is a replacement. These inputs help prevent unsuitable quotations and late installation changes.
Make sure the datasheet, certification and environmental claims apply to the exact product, variant and configuration proposed. Availability, lead time and delivery remain subject to the specific quotation and project requirements.
Harsh-area suitability and hazardous-area certification are related but separate checks. A fitting can be physically robust for dust, moisture, vibration or corrosion without being approved for a potentially explosive atmosphere. Conversely, a hazardous-area fitting still needs to be checked for the actual temperature, corrosion, marine and maintenance conditions.
Where ATEX or IECEx is required, confirm the exact equipment marking and certificate. ATEX is the European Union legal framework for equipment and protective systems intended for potentially explosive atmospheres. IECEx is an international conformity-assessment scheme for equipment and services used in explosive atmospheres.

If any item is unknown, provide the project specification, lighting layout or site conditions for review. Daly Middle East can then coordinate a reviewable shortlist against the application.
Daly Middle East supports UAE and GCC enquiries for industrial LED lighting and hazardous-area applications with product-family guidance, technical information and quotation coordination. Depending on the project, the review may cover temperature, IP protection, housing, corrosion, vibration, mounting, beam distribution, electrical details, datasheets and certification references.
The objective is a technically reviewable industrial-lighting shortlist that fits the project inputs—not an unsupported claim that every product is suitable for every harsh or hazardous environment.

It is lighting selected for industrial environments exposed to demanding conditions such as heat, moisture, dust, chemicals, vibration, impact, salt air or corrosion. The exact product must be checked against the site conditions and published datasheet.
No. Harsh-area lighting addresses environmental and mechanical demands, while explosion-proof or hazardous-area lighting requires a specific approval and equipment marking. Confirm both environmental suitability and hazardous-area certification where applicable.
The required IP rating depends on dust, water, washdown and installation conditions. Select it from the project specification and verify it against the exact product documentation; IP rating alone does not confirm hazardous-area suitability.
Only when the exact product’s temperature range, ingress protection, housing, corrosion resistance, mounting and electrical details suit the outdoor location. Coastal, dusty and high-temperature sites require their own review.
Send the project location, application, environment, temperature, dust, moisture, corrosion and vibration conditions, mounting height, area dimensions, target illuminance, quantity, voltage and any hazardous-area or client specification.
Daly Middle East supports UAE and GCC enquiries for industrial LED lighting and hazardous-area lighting options. Product suitability, certification, documentation and availability are reviewed model by model against the project requirement.
